Eradication of polio is one of Rotary’s longest standing and most significant efforts. Along with our partners, we have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries. We have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide and we won’t stop until we end the disease for good.
This year, the NID has been declared on 28th January 2018 and 11th March 2018. At the club level, we manage 2 PHCs – viz., Kadugodi PHC & Varthur PHC through 51 booths covering 83000+ families, supported by 270 volunteers, supervisors, doctors and Rotarians to carry out the immunisation activities. We also provide them the breakfast and refreshments besides a van for propagating “End Polio Now” message. Mobile camp will be on for 29th & 30th.
The inauguration started at 8:30am and team RBWC was present to enthusiastically offer polio drops to the children of 0-5 years of age. Kadugodi PHC had about 23 booths and Varthur PHC had about 28 booths. Team RBWC went through to oversee all the booths in both the locations
