Proud to inform that our Rotary District 3190 creates a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORD on “Most people to sign up to donate blood in 8 hours at multiple venues”.
We created history today when a world record 3560 volunteers across 15 venues signed up and donated blood on Thursday 4th August 2016. The medical partners for this event were Indian Red Cross Society (Karnataka State Branch) and Rotary TTK Blood Bank. The camps started at each venue at sharp 9 am and were shut exactly at 5 pm simultaneously across all venues.
Every camp was under the supervision of stewards and witnesses and followed all the norms as stipulated by Guinness World Records. Every unit(pint) of blood can help make a difference to 3 lives, so in effect this mega blood donation camp will make a difference to the lives of 10,680 people, apart from the awareness it has created amongst many more thousand people.
Hundreds of Rotarians from several clubs participated in organizing the event and also donated blood. It was a massive mobilization of service activity by Rotarians in the city of Bangalore and Districts of Tumkur, Mandya, Ramnagara. More such blood donation days will follow.
Earlier records was 1764 units only
43 units of blood collected by our club and Rotract of Shisu Mandir on 4th August 2016.
