We had an interesting speaker meet on 1st April 2017, with two speakers gracing the occasion. The first person was young 16 year old speaker Sankalp Sharma. He represented our country in the world convention for climate change at Texas, and has been the “Youngest Climate Reality Leader” from India. He has been spreading the message of water conservation. He administered an oath of conservation to all of us.
He is associated with “Walk for Water” a CSR initiative, and has organized multiple walks in different cities, including Bengaluru, which were graced by both celebrities and dignatories, at police and army contingents and also at Vidhan Soudha.
Our 2nd Speaker that day was Mr. Arun from Greenbug. Arun has this startup for building garbage bin liners using newspapers. A training program of his had also been showcased earlier in one of our programs. – https://rotarybwc.org/paper-bag-project/ – here he also helps rural women earn a small living, while providing for eco-friendly garbage disposal solutions.
Starting small, he hopes that this mission would grow big and would stand up in terms of viability and eco-support.
We had 27 Rotarians gracing the occassion, including 3 new joinees. The meeting was chaired by Rtn. Bharath Poovaiah.
